Meet Anna DiBella, CPA, CGA

Anna DiBella is the founder and lead accountant at ProFix Accounting and Strategy. She believes entrepreneurs should have access to sound financial information about their business, so they can make strategic decisions for their future.

Anna DiBella has spent much of her career working in finance leadership roles in high-end law firms and professional services organizations.

While she has held titles such as CFO, Director of Finance, and Assistant Manager of Finance, her focus has always been on making sure financial processes are designed to help businesses reach their objectives.

In her career, Anna has helped organizations to attain aggressive growth targets, and even win an award for Fastest Growing Business from Business in Vancouver. When working with new companies and entrepreneurs, Anna builds financial processes and procedures from the ground up, with an eye towards firming up strategic goals and developing tactical milestones to achieve them.

It’s important for Anna that her clients feel comfortable with their own numbers, so Anna works with business owners to develop their financial acumen and “translate” financial documents into terms they are familiar with.

Anna holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of the Fraser Valley and has completed the Certified General Accountant Program in 2014 with honours. She is currently an active member of Financial Executives International.

Kate Chakowski

Senior Controller at ProFix. Kate brings extensive experience in accounting and legal assistance.

Kate joined ProFix in 2021 and is thrilled to be part of such a dynamic team of professional women!

Kate has 7 years experience in legal accounting and administration and loves the challenge of working in this industry.

She started her career as a paralegal and office manager for a boutique civil litigation firm in Calgary, Alberta, and then moved on to a strictly accounting role at a medium sized family law firm.

Here she handled the financials for 15 lawyers operating under one umbrella corporation, and during this time learned the ins and outs of legal specific accounting while becoming an expert at navigating tricky Law Society issues.

This company managed the financials for small condominium corporations all over Alberta. Through this experience she learned that she had a passion for client relations and sales, as well as business development and marketing and is excited to bring these unique skill sets to ProFix Accounting.

Growing up in a small mountain town, she has developed a profound love of the outdoors and can often be found hiking, skiing or camping during her down-time. She has a passion for traveling the world and visited much of Europe and Asia while attending university in England.

Celene Hoag

Ops Boss at ProFix. Celene has always had a passion for fixing things and making them run smoother.

The “Boss” part of the title is no joke–turning frustrations (big or small) into company strengths is what Celene does best.

Whether it was while working in commercial real estate appraisal or running a digital marketing agency, Celene has always had a passion for fixing things and making them run smoother.

A total nerd for numbers and systems, processes is what Celene does best! After graduating from the Sauder School of Business, and becoming a mom, she decided to ditch the corporate world of Old White Guys refusing to embrace technology and innovation in favor of helping small and medium sized businesses become more efficient and more profitable.

When not wrestling back-end logistics into submission, you can find her growing beets and blueberries in her massive veggie garden, or chasing her little humans down forest trails.

Connie Werzen, Senior Controller at ProFix Accounting in British Columbia.

Connie Werzun

Senior Controller at ProFix with 25 years experience.

PROFiX welcomed Connie Werzun to the team as a senior controller on July 1st, 2021.

Connie obtained 25 years of experience working as a bookkeeper at law firms. Her last employer decided to close the office and looking for a new job became the top priority. A chance meeting with a client of PROFiX led to a coffee with Anna DiBella, an interview, and a job! Having only ever worked in a physical office brought on new challenges for Connie. Working from home and learning a multitude of new accounting software seemed daunting. She met the challenges head-on and has not looked back. Her ability to adapt to any situation is outstanding!

Connie is a perfect fit for PROFiX. She has survived many trust audits with positive results, she thoroughly enjoys fixing problem files, getting the clients back on track, and their accounting up to date.

When not at the keyboard, Connie is out taking a walk, hiking up the mountain, hitting the gym or reading a good book.

Kellyn, Executive Assistant at ProFix Accounting in British Columbia.

Kellyn Kohler

Executive Assistant at ProFix. She is the first point of contact for all our employees, she oversees onboarding all our new clients and keeps the wheels turning.

Kellyn joined ProFix in the Spring of 2021 as Anna DiBella’s Executive Assistant and has been an integral part of the administrative and culture side of our team.

Before Kellyn joined ProFix, she gained her experience in administrative work of 5 years at one of Canada’s leading boutique law firms as a Receptionist and Legal Assistant where she worked alongside Anna DiBella, before Anna left to start up PROFiX.

Kellyn basically runs the day-to-day systems of the company. She is the first point of contact for all our employees, she oversees onboarding all our new clients and keeps the wheels turning.

After nearly two years of everything being shut down, Kellyn successfully organized ProFix’s very first team retreat, where we got to connect and meet each other in person, for the first time. It was the first retreat of many more to come.

In her spare time, Kellyn enjoys getting outside and exploring the great adventures that Vancouver has to offer, loves cooking up new things in the kitchen and spending time with close family and friends!

Arev, Junior Controller at ProFix Accounting in British Columbia.

Arev Nerses, Junior Controller

Arev is an ambitious woman, who loves working and being successful in society. Arev previously studied accounting, and after graduation started her career as a correspondent and found herself in various positions including administrative assistant, sales manager assistant and accounting assistant.

Before moving to Canada, Arev fled Syria during the war and in 2015 moved to Lebanon where she worked as an administrative assistant. Her job consisted of many tasks including invoicing, customer and vendor correspondence, ordering and negotiating with suppliers, as well as transferring and receiving payments. Arev’s determination and work ethic never waivered as she has always strived to work harder and obtain a higher level of education.
She has continued to prove that by working to complete the VCC Administration, Accounting & Bookkeeping program while on maternity leave taking care of her new baby!

She hopes to continue to grow in her career and is planning to work on achieving her CPA in the near future. In her free time, she loves to go on long walks, watch movies, and read to her baby!
